When it comes to wearing your diamond ring everyday, it’s gonna get dirty. We use our hands every day, applying moisturisers, creams, sprays and makeup, all of which make their way onto the ring and therefore onto our hands. When we put on our ring it is a magnet for oil, natural oil from our hands just waters its way onto the jewellery naturally. If you’re always washing your hands, it’s just a little water and soap on top of your ring and won’t even dislodge the grime build up, like a deep clean will.

Pour yourself some warm water into your container/bowl, and make sure that there’s enough water so your ring is covered. Be sure that the water isn’t boiling or too hot for your ring to touch, that could damage your ring and even cause the band to warp.
You don’t need much soap, though - a few squirts will do, as your ring isn’t a big piece. But don’t use harsh chemicals — only use a mild dish soap. Bleach is harsh to the aluminum and it can damage it.
Add your ring to the mixture and put on a timer for 20 minutes to soak. If it is left in for 20 minutes, remove the ring from the solution. The grime and oil that is stuck to the ring should be broken down in the dishwashing liquid and warm water by that time.
Soft bristled toothbrush, get a bit and brush your ring gently with a light pressure, you do not dislodge the dirt that has built over time. Don’t focus on the metal band and remember not to scratch the diamond. You’ll also want to be sure that you use this toothbrush specially for this purpose and that it has not been used for some other thing.
Dip your ring into clean cold water. You definitely wouldn’t want your ring falling down the drain of your sink, best to do it over a bowl in case you drop the ring.

When you’ve got a very warm jug of water and washing up liquid, you can just pop your ring in the jug. Of course, don’t be afraid to literally strip it down to remove it by using really warm water (as long as it’s not too hot to touch) because diamonds can take very, very high temperatures.
Take or leave your ring to soak for ten, or twenty minutes. Either platinum or gold, the washing up liquid will attack oil and grime on the diamond’s surface and the metal work.
Simply soak your child’s socks, then use a toothbrush to gently clean off any dirt left in the material. If the ring design allows it, be sure to brush behind the diamond and under the setting. Now that we know that, whilst diamonds are nature’s most durable material, metals like platinum and gold can be scratched, make sure to use light strokes with a soft toothbrush and don’t scrub too hard.
When you believe that your ring is clean and clean, wash it with warm running water. Be sure to plug it in so you don’t drop your ring down the sink! If you’re worried you should fill another bowl with warm water to rinse the ring instead of rinsing it in the sink. Drying the ring involves not using an abrasive towel, cloth or cleaner that will leave marks on the metal. While gold is a bit softer than platinum, you’re more likely to scratch or nick it. But if you don’t want to wash your ring, you can leave it to dry.
