A diamond certificate will show measurements of a diamond and a more accurate idea of size can be found. A 4 carat diamond will also look different depending on its shape. Oval and marquise shapes are elongated (rounder than they appear) and will create an impression of being larger than a round brilliant, for example.
But the short answer? It would be a big diamond if it were a 4 carat diamond often mentioned, especially to couples, how the ‘size’ of a diamond is all about context and really far too much about scale.

There are many factors that influence the place of diamonds. There are too many variables that affect the price of a 4 carat diamond (just like with all the others) and that makes it carat weight, cut, clarity, color and origin.
This is the diamond cut, the quality with which a diamond was cut. In any diamond, the cut sets the tone for how shiny, or lustrous, the stone will appear. Of our Clean Origin lab grown diamonds, all are graded ‘very good’ or ‘better.’
The grades are graded alphabetically, D, E, F are colorless diamonds; G, H, I, J are near colorless diamonds. The most amount of light reflects and the brightest shines, and that’s colorless diamonds. All of the lab grown diamonds we sell are in the top seven of color from D to J at Clean Origin.
The clarity grade of a diamond is all about how internally flawless it appears to the naked eye. It is used to determine the amount of inclusion (inclusions inside the diamond) defects and blemishes (those on the surface of the diamond).
Generally, diamonds of the SI2 or better grade will be spotless, and diamonds of poor SI2 or worse grade will show imperfections that will be observable without the help of special equipment. At Clean Origin Lab Created Diamonds are always SI2 or better.
Normally we immediately think of carat weight as the size of a diamond. A carat, however, refers to weight measurement as the unit when it comes to diamonds. 1 Carat of diamond = 0.2 grams. We have it all; our diamonds come in a wide range for the carat weights.
Purchasing a lab diamond instead of a mined diamond saves you thousands. Depending on its carat weight the former can go for as little as $3,000 and the latter can be as much as $10,000 – $100,000. Say you are looking for a 4 carat diamond ring. It can save you 20-40% on lab diamonds compared to natural diamonds of similar carat weight and diamond quality.
The more significant carat weight any diamond has, the larger it is called. The surface of a 4 carat diamond will be about 10 millimeters or 0.4 inches in size. It’s very close, roughly 0.4 inches or the size of an aspirin pill (0.55 inches). This may not sound like a lot, but a 4 carat diamond in a ring setting is one giant big diamond. Hard to miss, it will stand out and fool anyone who sees it.

Lab diamonds can be viewed as a rapidly evolving market for lab diamonds, and a particularly dynamic market for larger carat weights. Together competition and technological raises in the lab grown diamond industry are driving lab diamonds ever cheaper. It was really very difficult to grow large diamonds until recently. Today you will still see fewer lab diamonds in the 3 plus carat range, but this is no longer the case. If this trend continues expect to find 4 carat lab diamonds becoming more available.
A 4 carat diamond can cost you anywhere from $30,000 to $200,000 or more. The carat weight in a diamond is just one of several factors to consider when you begin to figure out price, so we covered that in our 4 Cs guide.
There are other three — cut quality, color, and clarity — each of which has a profound effect on how much a 4 carat diamond ring will cost you!
Lab grown diamonds are diamonds that are grown in a lab. These are real diamonds as you can't tell a lab diamond from a natural diamond or lab grown diamonds will test to a real diamond on a real diamond tester. The advantages of lab grown diamonds: one important benefit is that they can save you up to 50% more on a natural diamond. On a budget but dream of the fourth carat 4 carat diamond and not breaking the bank? 4-carat lab grown diamonds start at $4,300 in Ritani's inventory.
The size of the stone has nothing to do with its quality: four carats is a large diamond. There are four C’s which in turn affect a diamond's value; color, clarity, cut and carat weight. A diamond well cut with good symmetry will also be more brilliant than a diamond poorly cut.
