WHAT DO RING SIZE NUMBERS MEAN?

US and Canadian Ring sizes come in size 3 to size 15, half sizes and quarter sizes available up through and including. These numbers are also connected to the inside diameter or circumference of the band on the ring. 

It could be as little as 1 mm of the difference between a nail biting tight ring and one that simply if not uncomfortable is too tight. A ½ size adjustment can be very noticeable in respect to comfort. Wondering what ring size fit you’re going for? 

HOW DO RING SIZES WORK?

With standardized ring sizes, you can shop for rings at any jeweler. A 6 (16.4 mm diameter) is by far the most popular woman's ring size and a 9 (19 mm diameter) is the most popular men's ring size. Importantly, each finger is a different size and your finger sizes will be different from hand to hand!

How to Measure Your Ring Size from Home?

1. PURCHASE A RING SIZER ONLINE

Find out your ring size to within a quarter of a size - No venturing to the jewelry stores or second guessing! There are two standard types of ring sizers:

Multi-ring sizer: 

On these ring sizers there will be dozens of plastic rings on a central loop. Just try the rings on until you find which rings fit you best to use. A ring that fits perfectly will easily slide over your knuckle, and be close enough to grip snug enough to not spin. It should take a little bit of wiggle or move to be able to get it over the knuckle.

Sliding belt ring sizer: 

These look like a belt with all the different sizes all typed on the outside. How to use: Place the sizer over your finger and work the raised plastic notch until the size fits very tightly against the tip of your finger. 

2. SO WHY MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE WITH STRING ?

• Wrap string or ribbon around your finger where a ring would, or should, be.

• Place a notch where the string or ribbon meet. 

Divide it by 3.14 (yes, pi) and that’s your diameter.

1. Use a ring you already have

Go to your jewelry box and grab a ring that you have already. The Inside Diameter of a Ring that fits on your left hand at the fourth finger ring size is the basis for this method. You basically should choose a ring that you wear on your left ring finger (or whatever finger you are going to be wearing the engagement ring) for the most accurate sizing.

Can I get my ring made bigger or smaller?

We don't offer this service, because the types of metals and a few finishes used in our voodoo crafting process don’t allow for those types of alterations in the same way. Typically we find that if you follow our tips then you shouldn’t have any problems with the size of your piece, however our Sales and Design Team is always on hand to help if there are any queries you have.

Ring Size Guide

In the United States, ring sizes follow a number (and half number) scale usually from ring size 3 to 13.5 for adults. Those units match your finger's width in millimeters: A ring size 3 is a ring that fits a ring finger (with any finger), and it goes up from there. Every half size standard ring goes from 0.4 millimeters larger. That being said, a size 3 ring is 14 mm, a size 3.5 ring is 14.4 mm, and a size 4 is 14.8mm.

Women's rings tend to be 14.2 (between sizes 3 (3 mm) and 9 (9 mm)), while men's rings are between 16.8 (8 (8 mm) and 21.1 (14 mm)).
